Insect-killers

To effectively eliminate flying insects such as flies, mosquitoes, midges, wasps and horseflies, these insect-killers operate without chemicals. Powerful fluorescent tubes emit ultraviolet light. This light attracts insects towards a high-voltage metal grille or an adhesive board that traps them.

Principle of operation

Flying insects are attracted by the light emitted by the fluorescent tube.

Electric insect-killers use an electrified grille to kill insects as they pass through. The insects are then collected in a tray.

With adhesive insect-killers, insects are trapped on a sticky board placed near the tube. This method also captures very small insects in a clean and effective way.

Effectiveness

Tournus insect killers offer several advantages:

The coating, the electrocution grille and the collection drawer are made of stainless steel. This ensures durability and long service life.

Actinic UV tubes provide long-lasting performance. They retain 80% of their effectiveness after 5000 hours of use, compared to around 3000 hours for standard tubes.

Clean and safe design

An external protective grille covers the live components and prevents accidental contact.

When the outer grille is opened, the system automatically cuts the power. The current remains limited to 9 mA, which eliminates any risk of electrocution.

Hygiene

Adhesive insect killers operate silently. They do not produce sparks, insect bursts or projections. The adhesive boards are odour-free and last around 4 weeks in summer, depending on insect levels.

Wide choice

Tournus offers 7 models ranging from 15 W to 80 W. They cover rooms from 40 to 180 m². Units are available in wall-mounted or suspended versions.

Actinic tubes

For best performance, replace the actinic tubes every spring. They are easy to change by removing the outer grille with a screwdriver. Tubes are available individually or in packs.

Adhesive boards

Adhesive boards can be replaced without tools. They are positioned vertically in the central section of the device. Wall-mounted models use one board, while suspended models use two boards placed back to back.
